Kunchan Nambiar, was a renowned Malayalam poet . H invented the artform of Ottan Thullal. he spend his youth at the ambalapuzha sreekrishna temple. a memorial has been set up in his name at ambalappuzha.

The Kunjan Nambiar Memorial, under the State Government, had organised a cultural festival at the memorial in Ambalappuzha on May 4 and 5 in connection with the 305th birth anniversary celebrations of the poet in 2005.
