Thakazhi Sivasankara Pillai

Born on 17 April 1912 at Thakazhi was a novelist and short story writer of Malayalam literature.He is known as the story teller of Kuttanad (Kuttanadinte Kathakaran). He focused on the oppressed classes as the subject of his works. He followed a simple style of story telling.He has written about 25 novels and over 200short stories.

Thottiyude makan(1947)

Kayar (the Rope, 1978)

Chemmeen (Shrimps, 1956) was adapted into a film of the same name. It won the presidents gold medal.

Enipadikal (1964)

Randidangazhi (1948).

Anubhavangal Pallichakal

 

He was awarded the Indian government's highest literary award, the Jnanpith in 1984.

He won the Vayalar Award in 1884.

Padmabushan in 1985
